Mercedes Moné has lost another championship, as her recent run of setbacks continued on March 14, 2026.
During the BZW x Rixe APOGÉE event, Moné was defeated by Mila Smidt in a match for the EWA Women’s Championship. The victory marked a major moment for Smidt, who captured the championship after overcoming one of the most recognizable stars competing internationally.
The loss comes just after Moné dropped the CMLL Women’s World Championship in Mexico City, making this the second title she has lost in a short span of time.
Despite the competitive match, the moment after the bell sent a very different message. Instead of tension or hostility, Moné and Smidt shared a show of unity in the ring. Following the match, the two wrestlers stood together and held up a sign reading “MORE WOMEN IN THE RING!” while posing with the championship. Footage from the event showed Smidt celebrating with the title while standing beside Moné as both wrestlers raised the sign together in front of the crowd.
For Smidt, the win represents one of the biggest accomplishments of her career. For Moné, it adds to a turbulent stretch that has seen her drop multiple championships in a short period while continuing to compete around the world.
