Hours before kickoff at Super Bowl LX, Mercedes Moné is drawing her own playbook—and it sounds a lot like the New England Patriots’.

On February 8, 2026, the CEO of AEW took to Twitter to rally behind her hometown team while reflecting on a historic year of her own. Comparing her decorated comeback to the Patriots’ unexpected run to the big game, Moné reminded everyone that being doubted is just part of the story.

“My @Patriots and I have a lot in common. Not just that we’re from Boston; all year, we were counted out! I responded by stacking titles, breaking records, and making history while becoming @SInow Wrestler of the Year. My Patriots went out and won the AFC title. Lesson? Never count out Boston. Now, go finish the job. LFG. 🏆🔥”

The tweet comes after Moné wrapped an incredible year in the ring, capturing 13 titles across multiple promotions—including her last win at House of Glory’s Superclash. Though she’s since begun dropping those titles, her dominance throughout 2025 secured her Sports Illustrated’s coveted Wrestler of the Year honor.

Much like the Patriots, Moné wasn’t everyone’s favorite to make a comeback—yet she did, and in historic fashion. Now, she’s hoping her hometown team can do the same when they face off against the Seattle Seahawks in tonight’s Super Bowl LX. Will the Patriots finish what Moné calls a story of redemption and resilience? She’s already made her case.
