Mercedes Moné is not holding back after her shocking loss at NJPW Resurgence, where AZM walked away with the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship.
In her first interview since the match, Moné vented her frustrations to Denise Salcedo, making it clear she’s not happy with how things played out.
“I’m really sad,” Moné said. “This is my first interview as Rebounce Mone because we were backstage at New Japan Resurgence after my main event. After I put this company on the map, I made this company money. And did you see what happened out there? I got screwed. I’m pissed. I’m pissed off.”
Despite losing the title, Moné reminded everyone she wasn’t the one who got pinned in the triple threat match. “There’s no U, there’s no I how she spells it. So, AM, okay, not AUMI.” she emphasized.
Moné admitted she’s struggling to process the loss, saying, “Let me recoup after losing my beautiful New Japan Strong Women’s Championship. I need a massage. I need a bath. I stink. I need to relax. I’m a little pent up with aggression right now, but I’m going to relax. I’m going to re-plan. I’m going to regroup.”
The defeat seemed to sting even more after a fan rubbed salt in the wound, telling Moné he hated to see her lose, prompting her to snap back, “I didn’t lose.” Now, with the NJPW Strong Women’s Title out of her hands, Moné is left regrouping and plotting her next move.
Mercedes Moné might have lost her NJPW Strong Women’s Championship, but she’s not ready to move on just yet. With her sights set on redemption and a new identity as Rebounce Manet, it’s clear she’s far from done making waves in the wrestling world. Stay tuned — this saga is just getting started.
