Mercedes Mone just cracked the door wide open for a possible rematch with her old friend and longtime rival Bayley.

The two went live on Instagram Friday to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of their classic match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn in 2015—but things took an unexpected turn near the end of the stream.

In the middle of reminiscing, Mone mentioned she was going for another title, and that sparked a little competitive fire. “I’m going for title number nine tonight,” Mone said casually.

Bayley didn’t miss a beat. “I just want one,” she replied, to which Mone immediately fired back: “You just want one? Come face me then, dude. Give the people what they want, one more match.” Mercedes doubled down: “So, what do you think about one more match?”

Bayley played coy but kept the door open: “It depends what title is on the line. We’ll see.” Mone reminded her she’s not short on gold. “I have a lot.” That’s when Bayley joked about the timeline. “How long would it be in? Ten years or five years or three years or one year?” Mone laughed it off but kept it heartfelt: “Ten years seems a little too long, I can’t imagine not wrestling you for ten years.”

Bayley added, “Mama’s getting old.” Mone ended it with a smile: “If I wrestled you when you were 50, I think I’d love that. It wouldn’t even be a match, it’d just be a haha.”

The two last teamed up in 2021 on WWE SmackDown, and now—between Mone’s AEW reign and Bayley’s current run in WWE—a reunion in the ring would be nothing short of electric.

For now, Mone is focused on defending her TBS Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door against Alex Windsor, Persephone, and Bozilla. But with her inviting Bayley to step up, fans might not have to wait ten years to see this legendary rivalry ignite again.
