John Cena’s shocking heel turn at WWE Elimination Chamber just got the stamp of approval from one of pop culture’s greatest villains—Megatron.
The Decepticon leader was approached at Universal Studios Hollywood by Michael Sorg of the Wrestling Mayhem Show, where he made it clear that Cena’s dark transformation was long overdue.
“It was always meant to be. I can see you now, John, I can see you now. I see what you’ve been up to and I like what I see,” Megatron declared.
But while he’s on board with Cena’s new attitude, he had a slight issue with The Rock referring to himself as The Final Boss. Megatron wasn’t having it. “Remember, The Final Boss is me.”
Pro wrestling and Transformers have been crossing paths more than ever lately. In the current Transformers comic series from Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment, the Autobots have been seen using classic wrestling moves against their enemies—including Optimus Prime hitting a Burning Hammer on Skywarp. The writer of the series, Daniel Warren Johnson, is a huge wrestling fan, which explains the added touch of in-ring influence.
And let’s not forget, Cena himself is already part of the Transformers universe, having starred in 2018’s Bumblebee. Now, with Megatron backing his WWE heel run, Cena just got a villainous co-sign from one of the most ruthless leaders in fiction.
Do you think Megatron is right about Cena’s heel turn? And should The Rock respond to being called out? Let us know in the comments!
