Maxxine Dupri Reveals Reaction to Controversial Promo Referencing Her Late Brother

Back in 2024, Maxxine Dupri and Candice LeRae were involved in a heated feud, which saw LeRae reference Dupri’s late brother in a controversial promo. With that in mind, Dupri has now revealed her honest reaction to her late brother being referenced.

While speaking to Gorilla Position, Maxxine Dupri was asked about her late brother being mentioned in the unscripted promo with Candice LeRae mid-match and whether she was happy with it being part of the storyline.

Dupri explained that she was okay with it. She understood there was a lot of narrative surrounding it, but for her, it was an opportunity to include her brother in something, regardless of whether it was good or bad.

Dupri admitted that she made the mistake of not telling her parents about it first, but since Candice didn’t have a mic, she thought it wouldn’t be a big deal and figured they’d just see what happened. She added that telling her parents first would have been the more considerate thing to do, but aside from that, she was fine with how the moment played out.

“I was okay with that. Like, I know that there was a lot of narrative around it. The way that I saw it was, like, good or bad, I get to include my brother in something. So for me, it was like, I was okay with that. I did make the terrible mistake of not telling my parents first. But she didn’t have a mic, so I was like, ‘Oh, you probably won’t even…’ like, right? I don’t know—I was like, we’ll just see what happens.

Yeah, I should have done that. That would have been a kind daughter thing to do. And I was like, ‘Oh, sorry.’ But aside from that, I was okay with that moment.”

During the March 11, 2024 edition of Monday Night Raw, Candice LeRae questioned Dupri’s place in WWE, mentioning fan criticism and even mentioning Dupri’s deceased brother.

“You can’t even do it right! She’s not taking that! You look stupid! Are you serious? Are your serious right now? You’re gonna try that on us? You know why people are booing you, right? Because you don’t belong here.

Oh, does that hurt your feelings? If you think the internet hates you, you should hear what the girls in the locker room say. Oh, are you gonna cry? It’s a good thing your dead brother isn’t here to see what an embarrassment you’ve become.”

Maxxine Dupri would eventually get her revenge on Candice LeRae as she was able to beat LeRae and right now Dupri continues to be a highlight alongside the Alpha Academy. The fact that she views her brother being referenced in a positive way is just a sign of how mature she is and fans respect her for that.
