WWE Hall of Famer RVD is one of the most chill people in the business but even he has his limits. He was offended after Maven called RVD the “smelliest wrestler” and now Maven took it upon himself to go to RVD’s house to apologize.

While speaking on his YouTube channel, Maven admitted that some time ago he made a comment he instantly regretted, calling RVD the smelliest wrestler and comparing him to New York City.

“A while back I said something I regretted instantly — smelliest wrestler. Oh man, RVD, like New York City itself. Right now I’m on my way to Rob Van Dam’s to make amends, and you guys are coming with me.”

Wanting to make things right, he decided to head over to RVD’s place to apologize, bringing the cameras along. When he arrived, he told Katie Forbes that he owed both her and RVD an apology and asked if it was okay to come in.

Maven explained that they probably heard what he said on the podcast, and while he could insist all day that he didn’t mean it the way it sounded, he knew how bad it came off. It bothered him that it upset them and so he wanted to say sorry in person.

“Hey, I came. I owe you and Rob an apology. Is it okay if I come in? Hey listen, I know you guys heard what I said on that podcast. I can tell you all day long I didn’t mean it — I didn’t — but I know how it sounded. Can you please accept my apology? That’s not how I meant it at all, and the fact that it upset you, it truly bothered me. So it was all good.”

Speaking directly to RVD, Maven said he knew he had said some things that were taken the wrong way. He could make excuses forever, but he believes if you make a mistake, you should apologize face-to-face, which is why he was there.

“I came to apologize. I know I said some things that were taken the wrong way. I can make excuses all day long, but I’m a man, and when you make a mistake, you apologize to someone to their face. So my friend, I’m here.”

RVD told him he wasn’t even sure he took it wrong, which led Maven to admit he probably misunderstood the original question and went off in the wrong direction trying to be funny. RVD said that’s exactly what he thought happened, so there were no hard feelings.

“RVD: Did I take something wrong?

Maven: I took the question wrong. I was trying to go in, brother. I was trying to go in this direction right here with the question.

RVD: That’s what I suspected it was, 100%.

Maven: I’m here to apologize, my man.

RVD: Well okay, I appreciate that dude. Yeah, no hard feelings.”

RVD did mention he could think of plenty of other people who might deserve the “smelliest wrestler” label before him, so it was a bit of a surprise. He then jokingly asked what the deal was with the deodorant comment.

“I could think of a lot of people that I would have thought would have made the list ahead of me, but you know, that was a little surprising to find. No, but what was the thing about the deodorant?”

Maven laughed and brought up how RVD used to use baby powder, saying that despite what people might think, he wasn’t staring at his package. He just remembered RVD putting on deodorant right after and figured maybe there was something about the baby powder routine he didn’t know.

“Remember you used to take baby powder — baby powder — and contrary to popular belief, I wasn’t staring at your c*** and I wasn’t finishing after you would do the baby powder. I know you put the deodorant on afterward, so I was thinking maybe you were just on to something with the baby powder that I wasn’t privy to.”

Regardless, it’s great to know that Maven went the extra mile to apologize to the WWE Hall of Famer after making such a bizarre remark and we hope nothing like this ever happens again.
