Vice’s Dark Side of the Ring recently saw its sixth season end and it featured the highly controversial Muhammad Hassan. Former WWE star Maven made an appearance on the episode and he has now revealed his payday for the appearance.

While speaking on his YouTube channel, Maven talked about his recent appearance on Dark Side of the Ring. He noted that in 2024, someone from Vice Television contacted him to see if he was interested in filming an episode. When he found out the episode wasn’t about him but focused on Muhammad Hassan and his short, intense WWE career, he instantly said yes.

“Now, this brings us to Dark Side of the Ring. In 2024, an associate from Vice Television reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in filming a Dark Side of the Ring episode. Once I heard it wasn’t about me and that it would be about Muhammad Hassan and his whirlwind WWE career, I happily agreed, knowing how great of a guy Marc is.”

Maven explained that the contract he had to sign was the most detailed one he’d ever seen, mainly because of how secretive the project was. He wasn’t allowed to tell anyone what was happening that day, mention that the episode was about Muhammad Hassan, or share any photos or videos.

Maven also had to keep everything discussed during filming completely private and he added that Vice TV was very strict about keeping the entire shoot under wraps.

“Now, the contract I had to sign was by far the most extensive to date, and that was because of the confidentiality of the project. I wasn’t allowed to tell anyone anything about that day—including the fact that we were filming an episode on Muhammad Hassan—or share any pictures or videos. I also had to agree not to talk about anything discussed during the entire filming session. The people at Vice TV were very serious about keeping their project hush-hush and completely under wraps.”

As for payment, Maven said it was a good payday since he received $2,500 for doing the episode. He also mentioned that he didn’t have to pay for parking, as a spot was reserved for him when he arrived.

“But how much did I get paid? Well, it was a good day. $2,500 to do the Vice episode. And I didn’t even have to pay for parking—they had parking waiting for me when I arrived.”

While the future of Dark Side of the Ring Season 7 isn’t known, Maven is just happy he got a good payday for his appearance during Season 6, so we’ll have to see if Season 7 happens and he’ll be there along for the ride.
