Matt Riddle and CM Punk’s bad blood isn’t cooling off anytime soon—and Riddle’s latest Twitter outburst made that crystal clear. But this time, he couldn’t hit delete fast enough.
On June 27, 2025, just moments after CM Punk was booed off stage during the WWE Night of Champions kickoff show in Saudi Arabia, Matt Riddle took to Twitter and unloaded a scathing post directed at Punk, his fans, and his reputation.
Riddle’s post took direct aim at fans who still support Punk, referencing the viral moment where Punk was caught pushing away a young fan in Saudi Arabia who simply wanted a photo.
“To the real ones that pay everyone else’s bills and out work most people in their professions much respect 👍🏼 but to all of the C**’s that literally can’t even pay rent let alone support themselves have a voice/opinion. You can all suck my big 🐓 and keep supporting a dude that literally pushes random kids, can’t win a fight and botches every other second in the ring 😂 also a lot of people are making accusations and I’d say I have no criminal record and any claim I made was 100% true hence I don’t have one you p******! Ask the FBI and Internal Affairs!”*
The tweet was quickly deleted, but not before screenshots circulated all over social media. Riddle’s jab follows his recent shots at Punk, where he blamed Punk for damaging AEW’s momentum, losing fans, and being a nightmare to work with behind the scenes.
“That’s why they’re using more homegrown talent. They had that issue with CM Punk and that went belly up for them—belly up and cost some fans, money, and everything else. They’re still rebuilding.”
Riddle didn’t stop there. He also questioned Punk’s fighting credentials and locker room reputation.
“You know, I’m not a big fan of that guy either. That guy sucks at fighting and he’s a b*** to work with in the back.”*
Punk, for his part, recently apologized for his infamous 2020 “blood covered d***” tweet directed at The Miz, clarifying during the Night of Champions kickoff that it wasn’t meant to insult Saudi Arabia specifically. He even issued a direct apology to a man named Muhammad and fans in Saudi Arabia.
“This guy wants me to apologize for a mean tweet I wrote six years ago. Hey, listen—legitimately, it had nothing to do with Saudi Arabia. I woke up and I was crabby, and I wrote a mean tweet to The Miz. I apologized to The Miz, and sir, Muhammad, I sincerely apologize to you and all of Saudi Arabia.”
That apology came just hours before Punk was booed off stage, with many fans still critical of his attitude and recent behavior—including the viral video of him pushing a young fan away.
For Riddle, who’s never been shy about stirring controversy, the deleted tweet adds fuel to a long-running feud. But critics have been quick to remind him of his own rocky reputation, questioning whether he’s really the right guy to throw stones.
