Matt Riddle shocked fans in a big way when he debuted red hair last month, making people wonder why he’d make such a change in the first place. After lots of waiting, Riddle has finally explained why he dyed his hair red.
While speaking to Rewind Recap Relive, Matt Riddle explained why he decided to dye his hair red. He said he hadn’t dyed his hair in about 10 years, as it was bleach blonde during his time in the UFC.
Being a big Dragon Ball Z fan, he compared the change to reaching a new Super Saiyan form, joking that with the look he felt like Super Saiyan 4 or 5, complete with the tail and furry forms.
Riddle admitted he likes the red hair, but it feels very intense at times. He noticed that some people didn’t even recognize him when he walked by. He saw it as both good and bad, good because he enjoys not being recognized in public, but bad because when he’s working and fans are buying his merchandise, he wants people to know it’s him.
“Uh, I did the red hair. I haven’t dyed my hair in like 10 years. It was bleach blonde. I had bleach blonde at my father in the UFC. I’m a big Dragon Ball Z guy. It was like my super, and now I feel like I’m still like, what, Super Saiyan 4. Look at this—four, five, with the ref. Four or five, right? Yeah, because, you know, I get the tail, I got the furry forms. But yeah, I like the red, but it’s intense. Yeah, it’s a lot. I feel like some people didn’t recognize me walking by. It’s good and bad, because in the streets I don’t want people to recognize me, but in here when they’re buying my— I kind of need, ‘It’s me, it’s Matt.'”
The King of Bros definitely doesn’t have to worry about making money since he’s already earning a lot of cash thanks to his OnlyFans. Even though the new look has divided fans, Riddle doesn’t seem too worried about the impact on his career. Therefore, we’ll have to see how long he’ll keep his red hair since he can always change it when he wants to.
