Matt Riddle Called Out for Disrespectful Comments About AJ Lee

Matt Riddle has drawn the ire of many after his controversial remarks about CM Punk and more, and now it appears he has been called out for disrespecting AJ Lee.

While speaking on the Cheap Heat podcast, Peter Rosenberg criticized Matt Riddle. He said Riddle got big chances in WWE but acted badly, made mistakes, and upset a lot of people. Rosenberg mentioned that even though Riddle was once a good guest on the show, he often carried himself like a jackass.

“And then Matt Riddle, another, MMA person who showed up to WWE got immense opportunity, acted like a jackass. And by the way, I never had a problem with Riddle…We had Riddle on the show, had a good conversation with him back in the day, but still carried himself like a jackass, made a bunch of mistakes, made a bunch of enemies.

Now he’s still carrying himself like a jackass, saying things that are completely inappropriate.”

Rosenberg added that Riddle hasn’t changed since leaving WWE in 2023, pointing to recent disrespectful comments about AJ Lee. Rosenberg’s message was clear: Riddle should stop talking and avoid causing more trouble.

“You know, saying disrespectful things about AJ Lee. Just shut up, bro. Come on, man, like shut up.”

This comes after Matt Riddle claimed that AJ Lee “got around” during her time in WWE, which definitely made a lot of people angry.

“I mean, to be fair—and I’m not one to talk, I’m a little f**ed up myself—but she did go get around from what I heard. But no disrespect to that. Hey, it’s whatever. People like to hook up. And if that’s the worst thing he did, whatever, dude. I’ve done it too.”

Matt Riddle’s remarks about AJ Lee have hurt his reputation even more within the wrestling community. With people like Peter Rosenberg publicly calling him out, his actions outside the ring are once again taking attention away from his talent in the ring. Right now, it’s uncertain if he’ll be able to rebuild his image and so we’ll have to see what he will do in the end.
