Matt and Jeff Hardy aren’t just holding gold in TNA—they’re holding it down backstage, too.
During a recent interview with River City Radio, the legendary tag team opened up about what it’s like mentoring younger talent during TNA’s resurgence on AMC. Matt explained that they’ve naturally become locker room leaders, with younger stars now coming to them for advice after matches.
“Yeah, I mean I think we've just kind of fallen into those roles and I think we're cool with it,” Matt said. “You know, there's guys who will ask us on the spot—whether they work with us or in a match before—'Hey, did you guys get to see any of my match? Is there anything I can do that would be different or better?' Or if we're working with them, 'What are your critiques? How can I be better?'"
The elder Hardy is fully embracing the role, knowing it lifts the entire company:
“We really have the best intentions on trying to help. And the better we can build up the entire roster, the better it is for the whole show and the whole brand.”
Matt pointed out how real the excitement is backstage now that TNA is on a major platform like AMC.
“It’s been high. I mean, there's a lot of people that have never had the opportunity to be on a major platform like an AMC, so they're doing it for the first time. So it's really cool and their excitement over being on there is just—it’s infectious.”
With TNA riding momentum and The Hardys leading the way as reigning tag champs, the veteran duo aren’t just reliving their glory days—they’re making sure the next generation gets theirs, too.
