Matt Jackson Reveals AEW Has Serious Interest in BTE: The Movie

The Being The Elite YouTube series originally started with The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Cody Rhodes, and later featured several other wrestlers from The Bullet Club. Although the show has been on a long break, Matt Jackson has now revealed that fans might actually get to see BTE: The Movie become a reality.

While speaking on his YouTube channel, Matt Jackson responded to fans who want a BTE: The Movie by saying the idea has actually been seriously discussed. He mentioned that they’ve even considered investing real money into making a film and that someone high up in AEW recently reached out about possibly bringing the show back.

“Hey, someone keep count of how many times I’ve seen BTE: The Movie. It’s funny because we’ve actually talked about putting in real money to do a movie. Like, I’ve actually been contacted recently — I won’t say who it was — but someone high up in AEW about bringing it back.”

Jackson said the fans want a movie to give the story an ending, but the series is not finished. It’s just taking a break, and they don’t know how long the break will be or if it’s forever. He said they always say, “never say never.”

Matt Jackson also wants to make a documentary about their story. There is a lot of unseen video that Brandon Cutler has saved hours and hours of footage. Matt and Nick Jackson told Brandon to film everything, even things people don’t usually see, like how matches are planned or wrestlers without their masks.

“The fans would love a movie for some closure. You know, I wouldn’t say the series has ended. It’s just on a hiatus, and we don’t know how long that hiatus is going to be — or if it’s forever. We’ll see. We always say never say never. It would be fun to do a documentary on everything too, because there’s so much footage — hours and hours and hours of unused footage — that Brandon has in a library nobody even knows about.

I remember I’ve got a lot of stuff too. Me and Nick told Brandon for years, just shoot everything. Anything and everything. Even the things that are really taboo, like putting matches together, wrestlers who don’t have their masks on — we have all that stuff. Hours and hours of it.”

Jackson explained that he always had it in mind that one day they might create a full documentary on their lives and careers. That’s a project he really wants to make happen before everything winds down. He admitted he has big dreams and that he’s definitely a dreamer.

“Because I always thought that one day we’d probably do a documentary on everything — on our lives — a proper documentary on our whole career. That’s one project I’d love to do before it’s all over. We’ll see. I don’t know. I have a lot of big dreams… but Matt’s a dreamer.”

After the 2023 Full Gear pay-per-view, The Young Bucks announced they were done making videos for Being The Elite but it’s now clear fans might get to see the show return in some format, especially as a movie. Therefore, we will have to wait and see if BTE: The Movie will see the light of day somewhere down the line as fans definitely want to see it happen.
