Jeff Hardy fans in Mexico thought they’d be seeing the wrestling legend in person this December—but that’s not happening, and his brother Matt Hardy is calling out the false advertising.

Back in September, fan convention OK Play Monterrey advertised Hardy’s appearance for their December 14, 2025 event, writing on Instagram: “We continue to break tables this December 14th. See you soon @jeffhardybrand.”

But in an update that has now created backlash, Matt Hardy took to Twitter and shut the whole thing down after a fan asked him if Jeff was really scheduled for the appearance.

“NOT TRUE. Jeff’s never been booked for Mexico.”

That statement directly contradicts what OK Play had been promoting for months. And now, fans who bought tickets are learning they won’t be getting their money back—despite the event being postponed five months.

In a follow-up statement on Instagram, OK Play Monterrey tried to calm the backlash but only stirred up more questions. They confirmed that the December show was rescheduled to May 16–17, 2026 and said:

“The event has NOT been canceled, nor have its guests. The December edition was simply forced to change dates due to situations beyond our control.”

As for refunds? They made it clear there are absolutely no options for refunds because the event isn’t canceled.

“There is no refund option since the event and its guests are not being canceled—only the date is being changed.”

They promised to offer “benefits and priorities” to attendees as thanks for their patience and teased a new guest they claim will be an “even more exciting addition.”

Still, Matt Hardy’s denial throws serious shade on the credibility of the original promotion. If Jeff Hardy was never booked, why was he advertised? And why weren’t fans told the truth until now? This messy situation has left a lot of fans feeling misled—and out of pocket.

What do you think? Should conventions be allowed to promote stars without official confirmation? Should OK Play offer refunds now that the original draw was never actually booked? Drop your thoughts below and let us know how you’d handle it.
