Matt Hardy is finally saying what a lot of fans have been thinking—the Hardys’ legendary run is winding down.
During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Matt got brutally honest about where he and Jeff are in their careers, acknowledging that retirement isn’t just a distant idea anymore—it’s coming sooner rather than later.
While reflecting on their current success in TNA Wrestling, Matt made it clear they aren’t here to just fill space or take random matches. They want these final years to actually mean something.
“We are having an amazing run in TNA… but someone who is also owed a ton of credit for it is the man that is here in this conversation with us, Tommy Dreamer. I want to give him credit because Tommy has put us in a position to succeed… The Hardy Boys, you know, 33 years in deep, you just don’t throw them out like in random matches and say, ‘Go nuts.’ We want a story — and the story of our careers, like this is… we know we’re not — we’re in our last few years and we want to make them as great as they can possibly be.”
It wasn’t a formal retirement announcement, but it was one of the clearest public acknowledgments from Matt that the finish line is finally in sight. At this stage, the brothers are focused on storytelling, not just racking up appearances for the sake of it.
After more than three decades of chaos, championships, and career-defining moments, the Hardys are clearly looking to write a meaningful final chapter before they officially hang it up.
