Chelsea Green still isn’t booked for WrestleMania 41—but her husband Matt Cardona is making sure fans know the Women’s United States Championship is not taking the weekend off.
In a video posted to Twitter, Cardona made light of Green’s absence from the WrestleMania card, joking that her title would be defended in private. “I’m just having a great WrestleMania. You know, Chelsea isn’t on the card tonight, but the Women’s United States Title will be on the line in our room tonight,” he said, with Chelsea by his side.
The playful jab comes as Green continues to be left off official WrestleMania promos, despite holding the self-declared Women’s U.S. Title. WWE had multiple pitches for Green heading into the weekend. One idea involved her being used as a host for the show. Another option was to advance her feud with Zelina Vega. And at one point, WWE floated the idea of U.S. Title open challenges, with names like Alexa Bliss and even Nikki Bella being discussed.
As of now, nothing is locked in—but one WWE source did say that plans could still change, and that “nothing is off the table” until the final scripts are set.
So while Chelsea Green might not be in the ring (yet), fans shouldn’t count her out completely. Cardona’s viral quip may have just been for laughs, but it also reminded everyone that Green’s title—and her presence—are still very much part of the WrestleMania conversation.
