WWE SmackDown in Toronto gave fans plenty to talk about, but what happened behind the scenes is just as interesting as what unfolded in the ring. While Chelsea Green had a frustrating night, the match and the promo segment leading up to it were carefully crafted by a select few.
According to Fightful Select, the promo featuring Tiffany Stratton and Trish Stratus was written by Devyn Prieto, setting the stage for Stratton’s confrontation with Green. Meanwhile, the match itself was produced by Kenny Dykstra, who also oversaw the segment involving Stratton and Stratus.
Green, frustrated about being left off the Elimination Chamber card, demanded a match from Nick Aldis—only to be blindsided when she found out she’d be facing the reigning WWE Women’s United States Champion, Tiffany Stratton. Despite putting up a fight, Green lost via disqualification after Nia Jax and Candice LeRae interfered, attacking Stratton and setting up a tag match for Elimination Chamber.
With Trish Stratus now aligning with Stratton to take on Jax and LeRae, the road to Toronto’s premium live event has taken another twist. But the real question is—how will WWE’s creative team handle the fallout?
