Mastermind Behind Kevin Owens & Cody Rhodes Segment During 12/27 SmackDown Unveiled

WWE brought a lot of big stories for the December 27 episode of SmackDown. That included booking Cody Rhodes’ next defense of his Undisputed World Title. Now we know who was the creative mind behind that segment.

Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes brought a passionate back and forth promo during SmackDown, and there were several biting lines. Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that Cristian Scovell was listed as the writer on Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes’ segment.

That was a notable segment, because it ended with booking a title match for the Royal Rumble on February 1. That will be a huge match for the Lucas Oil Stadium event.

Kevin Owens was not happy about how things ended for him at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The controversial finish saw Cody winning by bending the rules, and Owens isn’t a fan of having that happen to him.

We will have to see how WWE builds toward Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens’ next encounter in the ring. We have a few weeks until that match is upon us, so we very well may see some big moments for those two as we get even closer to another Royal Rumble.
