Chris Jericho may be one of the most decorated names in pro wrestling history, but that didn’t stop a large portion of the AEW crowd from heading straight to the exits when his match at AEW Dynasty started.

Footage from the April 6 pay-per-view at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia shows fans filing out of their seats the second Jericho’s match graphic hit the screen. One fan caught it all on camera and shared the clip online with the caption: “The amount of people leaving the moment the graphic for the Chris Jericho match went on the screen is hilarious #AEWDynasty.”

It didn’t help that Jericho was already coming into this Title vs. Mask match with Bandido under criticism. While the match ended with Bandido defeating Jericho and winning the ROH World Championship, the win itself wasn’t the biggest story of the night—the crowd’s reaction was.

And if the mass walkout wasn’t enough, Jericho reportedly lost a tooth during the match, adding physical insult to a night already marked by fan disinterest.

This isn’t the first time Jericho’s recent AEW work has drawn pushback. Fans online have increasingly voiced frustration over his screen time, with many calling for fresher faces and more time for younger talent. Now, the walkout could serve as a clear message to AEW brass: nostalgia only goes so far when the crowd wants something new.

With AEW constantly evolving and newer stars like Bandido breaking through, it may be time for Jericho to reassess how he’s being used—or risk more crowds heading for the concourse when his music hits.

Do you think Chris Jericho still has a place in AEW’s top-tier storylines, or should he take a step back for newer stars? Drop your thoughts below and let us know how you feel about the fan reaction at AEW Dynasty.
