Masha Slamovich’s TNA Exit Was Already in Motion Before Abuse Allegations Surfaced

Masha Slamovich’s future with TNA was reportedly coming to an end regardless of the recent domestic violence allegations made by her former partner, AKIRA. While rumors swirled about her being pulled from WWE NXT’s TNA crossover or backstage drama, the truth appears far more straightforward.

According to Fightful Select, Slamovich wasn’t removed from the NXT storyline—she was never booked in the first place. In fact, she wasn’t even in the U.S. when the segment was taped. Sean Ross Sapp cleared the air about that rumor:

“There were some rumors floating around that [Masha Slamovich] wasn’t welcome to the NXT show on Tuesday, but she wasn’t even in the country, so that wasn’t even a consideration.”

As for her TNA future, that decision had already been made. The company didn’t plan on re-signing her, and that factored into her recent booking. She was set to lose her Knockouts Title to Ash by Elegance anyway, and TNA pulled her from the Victory Road event once the allegations surfaced. Sapp added more context to how TNA handled her exit:

“Fightful Select learned that made the decision honestly pretty, pretty easy for TNA. And because her contract was up very soon anyway, she wasn’t planned to win the match she was scheduled for against Ash by Elegance. That’s why she actually dropped the title recently. They didn’t have any real confidence that she would even be with the company after I think probably Bound for Glory season anyway. So she was pretty well on her way out of the company as it is.”

WWE sources also confirmed that even if she had been booked for the NXT invasion angle, they would have pressed pause on those plans due to the investigation. Right now, Slamovich’s future in professional wrestling is uncertain. Her TNA exit was already planned, but the timing of everything has thrown her status further into question.
