Masha Slamovich was reportedly on the verge of major opportunities before serious allegations derailed her momentum. Now, her entire future in professional wrestling is uncertain—and it might have looked very different just weeks ago.
According to Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp, Slamovich was likely eyeing a move to WWE or NXT before her name was dragged into controvers. Sapp revealed during a Q&A that there was interest from WWE, but uncertainty about how far it went.
“I think that she likely would have angled to go to WWE or NXT. I’ve heard there was some interest there, but I’m not sure how much. TNA probably would have seen if she wanted to head there, and if not, she likely would have ended up re-signing with TNA. I think there’s a path to her appearing on TNA again, especially since the person who made the allegations said that he wanted her to continue her career.”
Sapp previously reported that her TNA departure was also already in motion. Slamovich’s contract was set to expire, and she wasn’t expected to re-sign. That factored into TNA’s decision to pull her from Victory Road and book Ash by Elegance to take the Knockouts Title from her before the allegations even surfaced.
“Fightful Select learned that made the decision honestly pretty, pretty easy for TNA. And because her contract was up very soon anyway, she wasn’t planned to win the match she was scheduled for against Ash by Elegance. That’s why she actually dropped the title recently.”
Now, with her TNA run over and other doors likely closed for the time being, the path forward is unclear. However, it’s not out of the question that she returns to TNA someday, depending on how everything unfolds.
