Mark Henry isn’t one to sugarcoat things—and if All Elite Wrestling wants to open that door, he’s more than ready to kick it in.
The WWE Hall of Famer recently sat down for a no-holds-barred interview with Pokers Scout, where he touched on everything from dream WrestleMania matches to his son’s future in WWE. But it was his comments about AEW that really turned heads. After spending three years with the company, Henry walked away in May 2024 and made it clear that not everything was sunshine and handshakes behind the scenes.
“You know what? I had a good time at AEW despite the fact there were a couple of incidents that I won’t talk about unless they start talking about it,” Henry said. “If they start talking about it, then I’m going to blast them because those were issues that related to me leaving.”
While Henry didn’t go into details, his tone made it clear—there’s plenty more he could say if provoked. He added that there’s still respect for the talent in AEW, even if things didn’t end on the best of terms. “I met a lot of really cool people, some unbelievable talent. And I have a lot of respect for people in that organization and I wish them well.”
Henry’s departure from AEW came after he was largely used in a backstage role and appeared only occasionally on screen. He recently returned to WWE, confirming that licensing conflicts with Fanatics cost him big-money appearances while he was unsigned. “I lost money because I was not with the company,” he admitted. “So we went to the negotiation table and here I am.”
Now back under the WWE umbrella, Henry seems fully focused on the future—both his own and his son Jacob’s, who he says could be in a WWE ring within three years. But if AEW wants to stir things up, Henry isn’t shying away. “If they start talking, then I’ll talk,” he warned. “And when I talk, people listen.”
