Mark Henry has a message for anyone who ever doubted Jade Cargill’s wrestling ability—watch SmackDown again and try saying that with a straight face.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, the WWE Hall of Famer took aim at critics who’ve long claimed Cargill is all look and no substance in the ring. After watching her performance in the Women’s World Championship triple threat match against Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jax, Henry says those critics are flat-out wrong.
“The people that say you can’t wrestle, hey, you might want to reconsider,” Henry said. “Not only did she never stop moving, she was involved in everything, and she executed things at a high level… You can see the focus that she had.”
Cargill not only kept pace with two of WWE’s toughest women—she stood out. The match ended with her busted open above the eye, a legit cut that Henry estimated would take “probably about 17 stitches.” But that didn’t stop her.
“Jade kept going. Did she quit? Did she stop? No… she kept going and tried to keep going,” Henry emphasized.
Cargill’s toughness, intensity, and nonstop presence in the match drew massive praise from Henry, who made it clear that this wasn’t a fluke performance. According to him, it’s time for fans and critics alike to stop doubting her and start respecting her.
“These women went all out,” he added. “Anybody that says the women can’t measure up and have the best show of the night, I give you exhibit A, Your Honor.”
With her performance on SmackDown, Jade Cargill didn’t just silence the haters—she may have changed the conversation entirely.
