Henry began his athletic career as a world-class powerlifter, representing the United States at the 1992 and 1996 Olympics. He set several national and world records before signing with WWE in 1996. Though initially pushed for his real-life strength, Henry evolved over the years, most notably reinventing himself during his “Hall of Pain” era. He won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in 2011 and was later inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018.

Henry has also worked in AEW since 2021 as a backstage coach, talent scout, and co-host of “Rampage.”

Mark Henry married Jana Perry in 2005, and the couple has two children, including a son named Jacob and a daughter named Joanna. Henry is known to be a devoted family man and often credits his family as the backbone of his success.
