Mark Davis and Jack Doyle are one step closer to AEW gold after surviving an all-out war on Dynamite: Maximum Carnage.
The Don Callis Family duo outlasted The Young Bucks, GOA (Gates of Agony), and JetSpeed in a chaotic four-way tag team match that featured run-ins, betrayal, and high-flying insanity—and now they’ve locked in a future shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
The match looked to be over when the Bucks landed the BTE Trigger on Kevin Knight, but Ricochet—who had been on commentary—ran in and pulled the referee out of the ring before the count. The shocking interference didn’t last long, as Jack Perry returned out of nowhere and leveled Ricochet, turning the momentum back in Don Callis’ favor.
GOA tried to hold the line, but the Young Bucks quickly disposed of them outside the ring. That’s when ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey tried to deliver a hurricanrana to Jake Doyle—only to be caught and powerbombed onto a pile of bodies at ringside in one of the match’s most jaw-dropping moments.
With chaos everywhere, Mark Davis seized the opportunity, spiking Knight with a piledriver to secure the pin and the victory for his team. With momentum and violence on their side, Davis and Doyle now await the official announcement of their AEW Tag Team Title clash against FTR.
Are Davis and Doyle the ones to dethrone FTR? Or are they just the next team to fall? Let us know who you’re backing in the comments below.
