Mark Coffey made a surprise return to WWE territory this week, stepping back inside the Performance Center nearly a year after Gallus was released from the company.

The former Gallus member revealed on Instagram that he recently spent time at the WWE Performance Center working as a guest coach with NXT talent. Coffey shared photos from his visit and made it clear he enjoyed the experience of returning to familiar ground.

“Fantastic time coaching this week at The WWE PC for @wwenxt,” Coffey wrote while posting images alongside NXT coach Johnny Moss and other WWE personnel.

Coffey’s appearance marks a notable moment considering his history with WWE. He, along with his brother Joe Coffey and Wolfgang, was released from WWE in May 2025 after spending several years competing across NXT and NXT UK.

During their run, Gallus became a staple of the NXT UK brand, with Mark Coffey capturing the NXT UK Tag Team Championship and also holding the Heritage Cup Championship. Behind the scenes, the trio also played a role in helping train Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as he prepared for his in-ring return at WrestleMania 40.

Since leaving WWE, Coffey and the rest of Gallus have continued their careers elsewhere. The group recently signed with MLW, where they will now perform under the faction name “GBOT” — short for Gallus Boys on Top.

Coffey’s guest coaching role wasn’t the only veteran presence at the Performance Center this week. Legendary tag team star Ricky Morton, known as one-half of The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, also visited to work with talent as a guest coach.

Meanwhile, NXT talent have remained busy outside the Performance Center as well, with much of the roster currently traveling for a weekend house show loop across Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Mark Coffey’s return to the Performance Center — even in a coaching role — is sure to get fans talking about whether a future return to WWE could ever be on the table.

Do you think Mark Coffey could eventually return to WWE full-time, or is this guest coaching role just a one-time appearance? Share your thoughts below.
