Mariah May Calls Out AEW for Unequal Treatment Amid Uncertain Future

Mariah May’s future in professional wrestling has been a hot topic of discussion since there’s lots of speculation that she might be headed to WWE. While nothing is certain yet, May decided to stir the pot as she threw shade at AEW.

Mariah May talked on her vlog about previously being in Chicago for an episode of AEW Dynamite and Rampage. She said she got a worse hotel room than the other AEW stars. Her room didn’t have a nice view, while others had great views of the city. Even though she was disappointed, she kept filming her vlog during the trip.

“So, I’m coming to you from Chicago. I checked the view, but like there’s not really anything to write home about. I got really screwed over with the rooms. Everybody came in my room. I was like, ‘Oh.’ I’m like, ‘What do you mean?’ Oh. So, I feel like everyone else has like a gorgeous view of the skyline. I’m not killing it so much. But I am tapping into this vlog. So, I’m in Chicago for Dynamite and Rampage, which we’re filming today.”

Mariah May then took to Twitter and commented on a tweet by a fan who pointed out how May was being given a lesser hotel room in Chicago compared to other AEW members, as May threw shade at AEW by saying, “what’s new.” By saying this, fans felt this wasn’t something new at all and had happened before with her.

It was made very clear that Mariah May is trying to rile people up and she obviously wanted to point out how she was being treated differently compared to other talent in AEW.

May hasn’t appeared on AEW shows since she lost to Toni Storm in their “Hollywood Ending” match back at AEW Revolution. With her contract rumored to end in November, many fans thought she was already finished with AEW. In March, Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer reported that May had told AEW she didn’t plan to sign a new contract, saying, “Apparently May made it clear at that time that she was not signing a new deal.“

Right now, it’s definitely unclear what her future in wrestling will be. For now, we’ll have to wait and see what she decides and in the meantime, she’s taking some time to relax and enjoy her vacation and so only time will tell what she will do in the end.
