Maria Kanellis is done staying silent. The former WWE star went head-to-head with a Twitter troll on July 27, 2025, after posting a message about growth and forgiveness. What started as a personal reflection turned into a full-on war of words—and Maria brought the heat right back.
After she tweeted about learning from past mistakes, one user—@kode2know—accused her and husband Mike Bennett of manipulating their employers during tough times. The tweet hit below the belt, dragging Bennett’s past addiction and their family into it. The troll wrote that they weren’t attacking her parenting but claimed both she and Bennett took advantage of companies who gave them opportunities.
“No one is talking bad about you being a bad parent or your children. I’m talking about being grifter’s in your professional career and taking advantage of the companies that employ you. Bith you had opportunities most will never have and what’s he do with it? Drug addiction? OK”
The same account went on a tirade, slamming Maria for what they called her “moral compass” attitude and comparing her to Hulk Hogan.
“And yet you’re going to come on here and allude to Hulk like you’re some kind of moral compass for America when you can’t even keep your s* together*”
Maria didn’t let it slide. She reposted the messages publicly and turned the situation into a challenge. Addressing the troll directly, she dared them to confront her in person at an upcoming convention.
“Are you afraid to be seen? I’m pregnant and won’t be at a wrestling show for a long time. But come by and get an autograph at WrestleCon next weekend. I guarantee you would never say anything to my face but I would. I am not afraid of my truth and don’t care if everyone sees or hears”
She continued defending her personal journey and stood by her past choices—refusing to be shamed for motherhood, recovery, or speaking up when she feels it’s necessary. Maria Kanellis isn’t just talking about accountability—she’s living it. And this time, she’s ready to say it all straight to your face.
Do you think Maria was right to take this public and confront the troll directly or should she have just ignored him? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
