Chris Jericho has been off AEW TV for the past few months, and there’s no sign of him returning anytime soon. While his future remains uncertain, there’s already a lot of talk about him possibly going back to WWE.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Chris Jericho’s contract is set to expire toward the end of the year, and there has been a lot of talk about him possibly returning to WWE.

Within WWE, there’s already heavy speculation about Jericho, with some even wondering if he could show up at the Royal Rumble. Nothing official has been said, but the situation has created plenty of discussion in the past week. Meltzer noted that many people believe Jericho will eventually end up back in WWE, making it a major story to watch as the year comes to a close.

“Jericho is actually a really big story. His contract is up at the end of the year, or late in the year, and there’s certainly been lots and lots of talk about WWE. I know from a WWE standpoint that there is lots of talk there about Jericho. People speculating Royal Rumble. Nobody has officially said anything, nor will anyone officially say anything…

That’s a big story to watch at the end of the year. But yeah, there’s been a lot, a lot of talk I’ve heard in the last week from many different people about the situation with Jericho and the belief that he’s inevitably going to be in WWE.”

This comes after Chris Jericho previously admitted that he would consider returning to WWE one day, as he didn’t really want to leave anything off the table in the future. He even created speculation after liking a post about returning to WWE as well.

Chris Jericho has remained absent since the April 9 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he completely lost it in a wild segment with Bryan Keith and Big Bill. Now it remains to be seen whether he will return to AEW or have one last run in WWE, as anything is possible at the moment.

Do you think Chris Jericho will return to WWE at the Royal Rumble, or stay loyal to AEW? What would you like to see him do next? Sound off in the comments.
