Mandy Rose didn’t hold back when talking about how her WWE exit affected her relationships with the locker room—and how some women may not be happy seeing her thrive.
During a new interview with CardPlayer.com, the former NXT Women’s Champion suggested that not everyone backstage was upset to see her go.
Mandy’s 413-day reign as champion came to a sudden end following her controversial release in December 2022. While she says she’s still close with Sonya Deville, others in the company may have had different feelings when she left WWE to pursue other opportunities.
“It was upsetting that my 413-day reign ended like that because I knew that I would become bigger and eventually be on the main roster,” Rose explained. “I was never the best wrestler in the world. I never will be. But when it comes to having that ‘it’ factor and being able to walk into a room and get people’s attention, I had that. People love to hate me.”
Rose then admitted that while she keeps in touch with a few people, there are others she doesn’t speak to anymore—and she isn’t sure what they think of her success since leaving.
“I’m still very close with Sonya Deville but some of the other girls, I feel like if I saw them today I don’t know how they feel about the situation. I don’t know if they’re envious or jealous—but I feel like there could be some chitter chatter back there,” she said. “I’m sure they may make comments about stuff—but I don’t give a s**t, because I’m living my best life, setting myself up for the future and I don’t have to take bumps anymore.”
Mandy Rose made her peace with WWE, but clearly hasn’t forgotten how things ended—and she’s not losing sleep over who might be watching from the sidelines.
