Mandy Rose’s WWE release still has fans talking—and now she’s finally opening up about how she really feels months after her controversial departure.

Rose was released from WWE just one day after dropping the NXT Women’s Championship to Roxanne Perez on the December 13, 2022 episode of NXT. That match was originally scheduled for New Year’s Evil, but it was moved up due to what turned out to be a last-minute decision by WWE management.

According to Dave Meltzer, “the title change last night was a last-minute decision based on the fact she was getting fired and not the original plan.” Her firing was reportedly tied to the NSFW content she had been posting on her FanTime page, a move WWE felt crossed the line, even though Rose had been public about the extra source of income for some time.

Since then, Mandy Rose has largely stayed out of the wrestling spotlight, though her name continues to trend among fans. And while WWE has celebrated other double champions like Stephanie Vaquer recently, Rose’s own run as unified NXT Women’s and NXT UK Women’s Champion has gone unmentioned—something fans haven’t ignored.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Rose admitted she’s noticed being left out of recent WWE discussions, and it stings. “It does. I really don’t know what it was. Circumstantial, and there have been a lot of people in the company where things happen and time goes on and they come back,” she said. “It’s a business, at the end of the day, and they look at it like a business. I have no idea what it is. I thought maybe I’d be back too, wrestling in general.”

While she hasn’t ruled out a return to the ring, Rose is staying honest about her current priorities. “The cards right now for me, I’m doing really well and does it make sense for me to go back to wrestling? I don’t know, and that’s something I’m still unsure about. I’ve never hung up the boots and said I’m done. I’m still young. If it made sense, I would definitely consider it.”

When asked about a possible Royal Rumble return, Rose revealed that she hasn’t even spoken to WWE since her release. “I don’t know if they would accept me back. I don’t know how they feel. I’ve never had a conversation. Are they really offended with what happened? I don’t know. Maybe they just don’t want to be associated with me anymore, in a sense, because I feel like I’m a little bit erased in certain scenarios.”

That feeling of being erased isn’t lost on her. “NXT did mention me not too long ago. It was a promo package and they were talking about the women in general evolving, which was cool. That gave me a little glimmer of hope, ‘Oh, I got a little recognition there.’ I feel like I am a little erased from their rolodex of superstars. I could be wrong.”

Despite everything, Mandy Rose is doing just fine. In fact, she’s publicly stated that she’s now making ten times more money than she ever did during her time with WWE.

She’s also set to appear at WrestleCon during WrestleMania weekend, giving fans a chance to connect with her directly—whether she returns to the ring or not.
