Lyra Valkyria Says ‘People Hate That I Love Nickelback’ But Stands by It

Lyra Valkyria isn’t just making noise in the WWE ring—she’s also turning heads with her music picks. The former Women’s Intercontinental Champion recently revealed a surprising favorite from her playlist that might raise eyebrows, but she’s standing by it without hesitation.

During her appearance on The Battleground Podcast, Valkyria was asked which artist on her playlist might surprise people. While she admitted to a love for symphonic metal staples like Nightwish and Evanescence, she quickly pointed to one band that gets a lot of undeserved heat.

“I feel like you’d expect like Nightwish and Evanescence — and you’ll see a lot of that — but people hate that I love Nickelback. Nickelback are one of the best bands ever. I love them.”

She acknowledged the backlash Nickelback often receives, but said it doesn’t bother her.

“I think you can’t get any better, but yeah, people get angry when they see that on my playlist.”
