WWE’s new Netflix docuseries Unreal is pulling back the curtain—and not everyone in the locker room is loving it.

During an appearance on Going Ringside, Lyra Valkyria opened up about the raw behind-the-scenes footage featured in WWE Unreal Season 2. While the show gives fans unprecedented access, Lyra admitted she’s not entirely comfortable with how much is being revealed. She started by acknowledging the intrigue, but the more she reflected, the more hesitation crept in:

“It's crazy really now that we're pulling back the curtain… the world got a very good insight into who I am.”

“I don't even know how I feel about it to be honest… I'm so used to—the whole reason I am Lyra is because I'm someone on the show, and that's who I choose to show the world.”

The cameras, she said, caught her at a deeply vulnerable time—moments she wouldn’t normally choose to share. Lyra also pointed out that WWE talent typically craft everything the public sees, which Unreal disrupts:

“To have had, you know, a camera right after a very huge moment that didn't necessarily go my way… to be speaking as Aoife is really weird.”

“I like to feel in control of what I put out there. It's all thought out. Everything we do on TV is thought of. So, to have all these cameras in the back now—it's really raw.”

Even WWE’s top minds were skeptical. Despite her concerns, Lyra admitted there’s been a positive outcome: fans are connecting with her in new, deeper ways.

“Even Paul Heyman says, ‘I don’t like this idea.’ That pretty much tells the viewers right there not everyone's on board.”

“Our whole point is to make a connection with people, and people seem to have connected with me over Season 2 of Unreal. So I guess that’s a very good side of it as well.”

With stars like Lyra Valkyria and even Paul Heyman expressing doubts, WWE Unreal is pushing boundaries that blur entertainment and reality. The show’s transparency is winning fans—but it’s also making talent question how much is too much.
