Former AEW Trios and TNT Champion Luchasaurus has been absent from AEW television for several months after dealing with severe health issues. While he has yet to return to AEW programming, he was spotted at a fan convention.
Twitter user The Editorial Style took to the social media platform and revealed that she Luchasaurus at the Toyhio Toy Show over the weekend. She posted a photo with him and other AEW stars, including Skye Blue and Danhausen.
A fan then asked her about Luchasaurus’ condition and in response to the fan, she mentioned that Luchasaurus said he was feeling better. She added that he was really chill and nice, saying, “He said he’s doing well! He was really chill and nice.”
Luchasaurus had collapsed at home back in September because his blood oxygen levels dropped below 80%. Initially, reports said he might recover quickly, but problems like a hardened heart valve and trouble producing iron, slowed him down. Doctors put him on oxygen support for several weeks, and he had to focus on getting his strength back.
Doctors hoped he would get better and wrestle again, but his return was still uncertain. It was reported that his condition was not confirmed to be career-ending, but the serious health issues made it a possibility. Sean Ross Sapp also noted that the former AEW TNT Champion is “nowhere near return” to the ring, saying, “I know whenever he talks he’s going to—he’s planning on talking about it eventually. But nowhere near return from what I understand.”
Luchasaurus last competed in the Casino Gauntlet at AEW All In 2024, and fans are optimistic about his full recovery and return to the ring soon. Nonetheless, fans are simply happy to see that Luchasaurus is doing better now and only time will tell when he will make his triumphant return to AEW television, as he was an integral part of The Patriarchy.
