Departures are commonplace in pro wrestling and AEW’s no exception, since a longtime employee has now confirmed their departure from the company after six years.

Ron Edwardsen of Red Leather Belts took to his Instagram and announced he is parting ways with AEW, bringing an end to his six-year tenure with Tony Khan’s company. He simply stated that it was time to say goodbye to AEW and thanked everyone for the opportunity.

“After 6 years with AEW it’s time to say goodbye. Thank you for the opportunity! #aew #roh #wrestling #chanpion #goodbye.”

Ron Edwardsen was known for crafting championship belts for AEW, ROH, and MCW. He was responsible for creating several of AEW’s titles, including the TNT Championship and the World Tag Team Championships.

AEW’s championship belts have been praised for their high quality and design, thanks in large part to Ron Edwardsen’s work. His departure marks the end of a major creative period for the company’s titles. Now that he’s gone, it’s not really known who will design the belts next and fans will be watching to see if the new designs match the same standard.

What do you think about Ron Edwardsen’s departure from AEW? Do you think the company’s championships maintain the same prestige without his craftsmanship? Sound off in the comments.
