NXT Vengeance Day was a big show on March 7. The NXT brand has been heating up on the road to Stand & Deliver, and tonight provided plenty of opportunities for Superstars to make a statement.

The card also featured an NXT Underground match as Kelani Jordan stepped into one of NXT’s most dangerous environments to face Lola Vice. This match received a lot of hype going into the event.

The history of the NXT Underground stipulation is practically built around Lola Vice, who has competed in several of these matches against opponents like Jaida Parker, Shayna Baszler, and Natalya. With that kind of experience in this ruleset, Vice came into the match with a clear advantage.

Kelani Jordan had the chance to prove she could survive the chaos of the Underground and score a major victory on the road to Stand & Deliver. This match is special because there are no ropes, no pinfalls, only submissions and referee stoppage. A victory needs to be earned in this work-shoot style.

Lola Vice’s father was at ringside, and he handed him her AAA title before getting into the ring. This match received a good ring introduction from Mike Rome. The second the bell sounded, these two got down to business.

This was a brutally stiff contest as everyone went from hold to hold. There were also some stiff strikes as the production turned lights down while the ring was surrounded by Performance Center trainees.

Eventually, the two started trading submission holds, and then Kelani Jordan rammed Lola Vice’s hand into the ring post. Then Kelani took Lola’s glove off and proceeded to damage her hand further. After Lola took a lot of punishment, she rallied and came back to nail a few strikes while protecting her injured hand.

The match kept going as Kelani Jordan got in Lola Vice’s father’s face, but that didn’t pan out. When they got back in, Lola Vice amped herself up, nailed a backfist, and then she got the referee stoppage.
