Logan Paul has a chip on his shoulder heading into his match against John Cena at Clash in Paris. That’s more apparent now as Paul has revealed he wants to replace John Cena as the face of WWE.
While speaking on the Impaulsive podcast, Logan Paul said that even though John Cena is seen as the greatest of all time right now, he wants to reach that level himself or even be considered one of the greatest ever. He explained that to do this, he has to go up against Cena in every way: on the mic, in the ring, and even backstage when it comes to how people are treated.
“John Cena is the greatest of all time for now. I intend to be the greatest of all time, if not one of the greatest of all times. I want my name thrown in the hat. A way to do that is to go toe-to-toe with John Cena in every facet of wrestling—that’s on the mic, that’s in the ring, that’s even backstage interacting with people.”
The Maverick pointed out that being the face of WWE means more than just winning matches; it’s also about being a leader in the locker room and showing respect to everyone who helps make the show work. Cena has done that for over 20 years, but Paul believes he has what it takes to do the same and eventually become the company’s top star.
Paul said he has learned a lot from John Cena, especially after teaming up with him, but now he’s ready to use that experience to beat him. He added that wrestling Cena in Paris is a chance to prove that he belongs in WWE. Even though some people still see him as an outsider, he said he has earned his spot and plans to prove it to the world at Clash in Paris on August 31.
“Like, there’s a real thing when it comes to being a locker room leader. The guy who leads the company, the face of the company, is respectful to everyone in the crew, to everyone who helps make this well-oiled machine work. And John Cena has been that guy for 20, 25 years. I fully believe I have the capacity to do all of that. I want to be the face of the company.
I’ve taken my notes. I’ve learned from him. He’s the master. I got to tag team with him and learn from him. But now I’m going to use the things he’s taught me to beat his f******ass in front of everyone in Paris. And the fact that I get to wrestle him in France, easy, in front of the entire world in my fourth year as an outsider—go f*** yourself. I’m not an outsider. I belong here. And I intend to show everyone that in Paris on August 31st at Clash in Paris.”
This comes after John Cena defended Logan Paul and made it clear that he believes Paul is underrated and not overrated. Regardless, we’ll have to see if Paul will ever come close to Cena’s legacy but for now fans are waiting to see if he has any chance against Cena at Clash in Paris.
