Logan Paul is taking his match with John Cena at WWE Clash in Paris as a defining moment — even if he didn’t walk away with the win.
On a new episode of Impaulsive, Logan broke down his feelings about the brutal showdown in Paris La Défense Arena and had nothing but praise for Cena — calling him the greatest of all time and comparing his performance to one of the world’s most iconic artists.
“About halfway through the match, I felt very viscerally two things,” Logan said. “One: holy s*, John Cena is so f**ing good. He just—he is that good.”
He mentioned that people who don’t follow wrestling might not understand the difficulty of pulling off what Cena does in the ring.
“There will be people who hear that who know wrestling and people who don’t. And the people who don’t will go, ‘Well, don’t you know what’s going to happen?’ But if you know the business and the intricacies of this craft, you know how hard it is. John Cena wrestles better than Pablo Picasso paints. Sorry to all the Picasso stans out there, but he is so good at what he does.”
Logan described the entire match as a blend of physical punishment and a crash course in wrestling artistry.
“I was in the ring with literally the greatest of all time. Not only working, but admiring and learning. It felt like I was kind of at school… I was trying to just absorb as much as I could.”
While fans saw Cena’s win as part of his retirement tour, Logan seemed to understand the weight of the moment:
“That was my last match with John Cena. He’s not coming back. That was it.”
Despite losing, Logan viewed the experience as a career milestone:
“Although I did not come away with the victory, I did come away with more victories than I can count in terms of what I learned in this sport—and hopefully the respect that I gained.”
He also shared that the match came just two weeks after his wedding, and joked about how tough it was to rebound physically:
“I was exhausted. He’s a heavy guy. My honeymoon was wrestling John Cena. Two weeks earlier I got married… and we had some real good nights. Some long nights, too. Man, I was up till like 9:30 a.m. the last morning.”
Logan gave props to wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer for awarding the match a rare 4.5-star rating. He also acknowledged WWE commentator Michael Cole’s on-air support.
“It got a Dave Meltzer 4.5-star rating. And he’s tough. He’s a tough critic. That means a lot. Michael Cole praised my skills… said I’m going to be a future WWE World Champion.”
When asked if winning the WWE Title was his goal, Logan didn’t hesitate: “It’s not a goal. It’s inevitable.” And that confidence wasn’t just talk — Logan said he was surprisingly calm heading into the Paris showdown:
“I was as cool as a cucumber. I was just… at home. Just doing exactly what I was supposed to be doing. It felt perfect.”
John Cena may have scored the W, but Logan Paul clearly left Paris with more than a loss — he walked out with knowledge, validation, and maybe even a glimpse at his wrestling future.
