Logan Paul is responding to criticism over his recent in-ring moment involving rising WWE star Javon Evans — and he’s not accepting the blame.
During a recent episode of his Impaulsive podcast, Paul addressed online criticism surrounding a spot that some fans claimed nearly injured the young NXT standout. The conversation came up while Paul was discussing wrestling botches and the challenges of performing in WWE rings late in a show, particularly how slippery the ropes and canvas can become after multiple matches. As the topic shifted toward the moment involving Evans, one of the hosts brought up the criticism circulating online.
“Do you think that maybe the slippery ring is why you missed the spot and almost killed Javon Evans?”
Paul explained that he has long supported Evans and even predicted success for the young wrestler well before the recent incident. Despite the praise, Paul suggested the spot went wrong because Evans didn’t execute the flip the way it was supposed to happen.
“Javon Evans, new kid, up-and-comer. I’m the first one to support the kid. I got a tweet dating a couple years ago. I said, ‘Javon Evans is the future.’”
“The kid is one of the best flippers in the WWE, but all of a sudden when it comes time to flip with me, he can’t do it. He can’t flip.”
Paul also dismissed the idea that the situation was as serious as critics made it sound and insisted Evans walked away without any real damage.
“Nothing happened, bro. He got f**ing pulverized. He got pulverized. He got pinned.”*
He continued by downplaying the moment and framing it as a routine part of professional wrestling.
“He’s fine. Put some ice on the neck, do a better flip next time and get going.”
While some fans continue debating the spot online, Paul clearly believes the situation has been exaggerated. Moments like these are part of the unpredictable nature of professional wrestling, especially when high-risk moves are involved and performers are trying to deliver exciting matches for the audience.
What do you think about Logan Paul’s response to the criticism over the Javon Evans spot? Was he right to push back, or do you think the situation deserved more accountability? Let us know your thoughts and join the conversation in the comments.
