Logan Paul says WWE stepped in after he challenged NFL players to step into the boxing ring.
Paul had recently stirred up controversy after claiming that no NFL player could beat him in a boxing match. The comments came during a discussion about a viral moment involving Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski during preparations for the Fanatics Flag Football Classic, where Brady was heard calling Paul a “bitch.”
During his Impaulsive podcast, Paul doubled down on his combat sports background and openly invited football players to test themselves against him in a boxing match. However, the situation took a turn when Paul later revealed that WWE contacted him and shut down the idea entirely.
Taking to social media, Paul explained that company officials told him he would not be allowed to fight NFL players because of his status as one of WWE’s top stars.
“Welp. The bosses called. Turns out I’m too valuable of a WWE Superstar to be fighting bums.”
Paul also used the post to take another shot at two NFL players who had been mentioned during the conversation.
“I want to take this opportunity to congratulate Le’Veon Bell and Breiden Fehoko for their 15 minutes of relevancy. Now back to being broke and retired.”
Paul finished the message by saying his focus will remain on WWE programming moving forward.
“I’m going back to RAW every Monday on Netflix @WWE.”
The update effectively shuts down the possibility of Paul stepping into the ring with any NFL players, at least for now, as WWE appears determined to protect one of its most recognizable crossover stars. Whether the tension between Paul and football players continues as trash talk or evolves into something else remains to be seen.
Do you think WWE made the right call stopping Logan Paul from boxing NFL players, or should they have let him take the fight? Let us know your thoughts and leave your feedback in the comments.
