Liv Morgan isn’t sugarcoating what it was like to be sidelined in 2025. In fact, she says she was “pissed” the entire time.

After suffering a serious right shoulder injury in June 2025, Morgan was forced to miss several months of WWE action. Her comeback took place at Survivor Series: WarGames, and now, she’s heading to WrestleMania 42 as the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble winner. But according to Morgan, that journey was fueled by rage.

While speaking with Rick Ucchino on The Takedown via Sports Illustrated, Morgan explained just how difficult the recovery process really was.

“Yeah, I was pissed, I was mad. I was mad my whole injury. I was mad the whole entire time. I feel like I got injured in a moment where I had multiple things going on for me. I was really enjoying and loving what I was doing so to have that taken away from me for an extended period of time, I was angry. I was quite literally angry the whole entire time that I was recovering. So I feel like I came back with a little bit of a chip on my shoulder, just because, I felt like my career was taken from me, and I did not appreciate that… And I was like, ‘Why the hell did this happen?”

That emotional fire is what helped push her through rehab—and now, she’s trying to make sense of it all by focusing on what came next.

“I have to settle on believing that it happened for a reason. So yes. I have to believe that this happened for my greater good at the end of the day, even though I didn’t believe that the whole entire time that I was injured, and so yes, I will settle on this injury happened so that I could come back, finally win the Royal Rumble, finally headline WrestleMania and walk out a champion. Which one? I don’t know but, walk out a champion nonetheless.”

Morgan is set to appear on SmackDown this week to address WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill, but she still hasn’t confirmed whether she’ll face Cargill or WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer at WrestleMania 42.

From bitterness to redemption, Liv Morgan’s story is far from over—but now, she’s driving the narrative.
