Liv Morgan just revealed that her December 2023 arrest turned into something no one could’ve predicted: a full-blown meet-and-greet with police while handcuffed in the back of a squad car.
Speaking with Stephanie McMahon on the What’s Your Story? podcast on January 8, 2026, Morgan detailed how the now-infamous incident happened, including the bizarre change in how she was treated once officers realized who she was. Though the marijuana possession charges were eventually dropped, Morgan shared how deeply uncomfortable the experience became.
She began by recounting the moment her car was searched and how things got uncomfortably personal when officers discovered her private journal, as the cops started laughing at her.
“They arrest me, go through my car, and find a journal. They start reading my journal. They go to my goal list—things like being in the WWE Hall of Fame and going into acting—and they’re laughing at me, like, ‘Haha, welcome to the real world.’”
As the search continued, the tone of the encounter changed completely when officers discovered evidence of her WWE career—including her trading card and pay stub. Morgan explained that she didn’t deny anything during the stop, including the scent of marijuana coming from the vehicle. But rather than try to pull rank or name-drop, she stayed calm and honest.
“Then they find a pay stub in my car from WWE. Then they see my trading card. That’s when the whole tone changes. I knew my car smelled like marijuana. I didn’t want to lie, so I was like, ‘Here.’ And he was so mad at me. Right away, I get whisked out of my car, hands behind my back. I’m like, ‘Oh s***, I’m getting arrested. Don’t cry, don’t cry—I’m going to take a mugshot.’”
Fully aware that her arrest was being recorded on a police bodycam, Morgan focused on staying composed. But once officers pieced together who she was, the mood shifted dramatically—even though the arrest was already in progress.
“I was just like, be nice, because this bodycam footage is going to be released. I’m like, ‘Yes sir, no sir.’ I would never be like, ‘I’m Liv Morgan from WWE.’ That’s not my style, so I didn’t even think of that. So as he’s going through my car, he finds my WWE stuff. Then the complete vibe changes. Now they’re apologizing to me. But it’s already too far into the process—they have to arrest me.”
What happened next wasn’t caught on camera—but Liv says it turned into something completely unexpected, as it became a full-blown meet-and-greet. Still in cuffs, she says the officers dropped all formality and acted like excited fans. Then, in what she described as an almost comedic twist, officers began taking photos with her.
“What the bodycam camera didn’t pick up is that three cop cars pull up, and I’m in the backseat doing a meet-and-greet. I’m literally handcuffed, and the cops are like, ‘Liv! Is work going to be mad?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah?? Yeah, they are.’
They’re taking photos, and I’m just like… what the f***? They all took photos. And I’m sitting there thinking, man, what the f***? They read my journal and my goal list, and that’s how they found out. Isn’t that crazy? I did a whole meet-and-greet, and they read my whole life’s journal.”
While the situation could’ve ended far worse, Morgan’s account shows just how bizarre and deeply personal the moment became—especially when her private goals were literally read out loud by law enforcement.
