WWE Hall of Famer Lita is opening up about her unexpected exit from WWE programming in 2023—and she’s not sugarcoating how it went down.

In an interview with The Toronto Sun, Lita reflected on her short-lived return to the ring alongside Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus. She said the experience was deeply satisfying—up to a point.

She was thrilled to have a singles match with Becky and then team with her and Trish to take on Damage CTRL, calling it “pretty awesome” and saying she felt “very satisfied in that.” But what followed caught her off guard. After celebrating with the crowd at WrestleMania, Lita says WWE suddenly dropped her without much explanation.

“I had this really fun celebratory match at WrestleMania, and then the next thing I know they’re like, ‘Oh, by the way, you’re just going to be laying on the ground and we don’t need you anymore.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, okay.’”

That abrupt ending left things feeling unresolved for the WWE legend. While she says she’s proud of everything she’s accomplished—both in her full-time run and in her sporadic returns—Lita made it clear she’s not fully closing the door.

She admitted she’d consider another run “if the right opportunity came,” especially since she still feels great physically and sees so much talent in today’s roster.

“It’s always fun to mix it up with the current roster,” she added.

Will we see Lita lace up the boots again? That might be up to WWE—but it sounds like she’s definitely open to one more twist.
