Lince Dorado is officially back in WWE, making a surprise return at Friday’s NXT live event in Citrus Springs, Florida. After weeks of speculation about his next move—especially after stepping down as Lucha Premier Champion—Dorado’s return has now been confirmed.

The former 205 Live standout and Lucha House Party member carved out a reputation for his high-flying style before his WWE departure in 2021. Since then, he’s been tearing it up on the independent scene, but it looks like his journey has brought him back to the Performance Center in a whole new capacity.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer, Dorado isn’t just returning as an in-ring competitor—he’s also taking on a coaching role within NXT. “So he debuted last night. I think Citrus Springs, Florida… he has been hired as a coach. So that’s the deal there. He’s going to work at the Performance Center, and I guess, you know, do some matches as well. So that’s the story.”

With WWE’s focus on building the future of its developmental system, adding a veteran like Dorado to the mix makes sense. His experience in lucha libre and years in WWE give him the perfect background to help train the next generation of high-flyers.
