Joe admits that he doubted himself multiple times during his wrestling career. He went to Japan and was making okay money, but it wasn’t what he hoped he’d be making. After he returned from Japan and before he began working for TNA, he seriously considered hanging up his boots and getting a 9-5 job. He credits his family and friends with keeping him positive and focused at that time.
He adds that the fans really helped him during some of those times when he considered leaving the business. He says the fans’ ability to appreciate what he does in that ring is one of his favourite things about the business, and it can be enlightening just talking to fans from time to time.
Joe says his experience working for WWE has exceeded his expectations thus far. He was very weary when he signed his WWE contract due to the negative things he had heard about the company, but he knows that a lot of those negative comments often come from disgruntled former employees who are taking shots at the company on their way out the door.
He admits that McMahon, Hayes, Triple H and other officials expect a lot from their employees, but they are great men who are dedicated to the business of professional wrestling. As long as you’re willing to put the work in, those guys will respect you and you’ll have no issues in WWE.
