Shiloh Hill didn’t just win LFG—he walked away from a full‑blown tech career at Tesla to chase the WWE life, and the story behind that decision is straight out of a movie.

While speaking with Going Ringside, the Stanford linebacker turned WWE prospect revealed that he had lined up what he described as the perfect job, one that matched every degree he earned in college. But the moment he got his shot with WWE, everything changed.

Hill explained that he had been hired as a software developer at Tesla after studying psychology, computer science, and sustainability science. That job sounded great on paper, until he realized it wasn’t giving him what he really wanted.

“I had actually gotten a job at Tesla. I was a software developer there, which was kind of the best case job for all my… everything I studied combined together. But it was missing something, man. I was sitting at a desk for a majority of the day. I didn’t get to punch anyone in the face. It wasn’t as exciting as I thought.”

Things took an even wilder turn when he told his boss he had an offer from WWE. Instead of trying to keep him in tech, the guy pushed him out the door—but in the best way possible. Hill said his boss, who was from India, ended up being a massive WWE fan. That alone flipped the entire conversation on its head.

“I remember talking to my boss at the time… I was like, ‘I actually might go wrestle.’ And he asked, ‘Like WWE?’ When I said yes, he goes, ‘Dude, you have to do it.’”

Hill said the surprise didn’t stop there, as his boss explained why he was so passionate about the idea.

“You don’t understand. All we watch in India is cricket and WWE. I love WWE. Bro, you absolutely go do it. If it doesn’t work out, I’m sure you can come back, but that’s like a once in a lifetime opportunity. You got to go try it.”

That push was all Hill needed. He left Tesla behind, reported to the WWE Performance Center, and is now being positioned as one of the top emerging talents coming out of the LFG pipeline.

Shiloh Hill’s path to WWE wasn’t clean or conventional—but it was real, unexpected, and fueled by pure passion. Walking away from a stable tech career to slam into the world of sports entertainment takes guts, but Hill is already proving he wasn’t wrong to take that leap.
