Leyla Hirsch is officially back. After speculation about her next move, the former AEW and ROH star took to Twitter on March 18 to announce her return to the independent wrestling scene. “After taking some time to reflect and recharge, I’m beyond excited to announce that I’m BACK on the independent wrestling scene!” she wrote.

This announcement comes as Hirsch is officially done with AEW, leaving fans wondering where she’ll go next. During the March 18 episode of the Fightful Select Podcast, Sean Ross Sapp was asked whether WWE NXT was in the mix. His response? “Nothing so far.”

That doesn’t mean WWE isn’t interested, but as of now, there’s no indication that she’s on their radar. Of course, things could change down the line.

Hirsch originally signed with AEW in 2020, quickly making a name for herself with her amateur wrestling background. She battled top names like Serena Deeb, Thunder Rosa, and Kris Statlander before shifting to ROH in 2022. A knee injury sidelined her for over a year, but she returned in 2023, aligning with The Kingdom. Her AEW/ROH run ended after losing the ROH Women’s World Television Title to Red Velvet at Final Battle 2024.

Now that she’s a free agent, the door is wide open. WWE NXT, NJPW, TNA, and other promotions could all be options, but for now, she’s taking bookings on the indie scene.
