What looked like a serious situation at an NXT live event this week may not be as bad as it first seemed — at least for Lexis King.
After a chaotic match in Lakeland raised serious concerns, there’s now confirmation on Lexis King’s condition following the incident. According to Fightful Select, King avoided a major injury and is doing okay after the frightening spot.
“We are told that Brian Pillman aka Lexis King is feeling okay after a rough spot at an NXT live event this past weekend. We wish him the best.”
This comes after what was originally a routine tag team match turned into a situation that forced officials to step in multiple times. During the NXT live event in Lakeland, Eli Knight, Elio LeFleur, Kale Dixon, and Tavion Heights faced off against The Birth Right’s Channing Lorenzo, Charlie Dempsey, Lexis King, and Uriah Connors.
The match took a sudden turn when referees threw up the X signal — not once, but twice — signaling legitimate injury concerns inside the ring. The first incident involved Lexis King, who took a hard knee directly to the face, immediately drawing attention from officials and causing visible concern due to swelling and the impact of the strike.
Despite that, the match continued — but things escalated again when Elio LeFleur appeared to suffer a serious injury during a turnbuckle spot, with early signs pointing toward a possible arm injury.
Referees were seen closely checking on LeFleur as the situation unfolded, and with multiple stoppages and visible concern, it became clear this wasn’t part of the show. The match was ultimately ruled a no contest as officials prioritized safety.
While King’s update brings some relief, there’s still no confirmed word on the severity of Elio LeFleur’s condition, leaving part of the situation unresolved. So, what looked like a worst-case scenario for Lexis King turned out to be less severe, but the overall situation still shows how quickly things can go wrong in the ring.
