Leon Slater has been one of the fastest-rising names in TNA Wrestling, but his current contract may not keep him around as long as fans originally thought.

When TNA and Scott D’Amore announced in October 2023 that they signed ‘The Youngest In Charge’ to a “long-term contract,” many assumed Slater was locked in well into the future. However, according to a new report from Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan, the actual deal is a three-year contract set to expire in fall 2026.

That means the 20-year-old X-Division Champion—who won the title at TNA Slammiversary 2025 and even received a backstage nod from AJ Styles—could technically become a free agent in just over a year.

Slater first made his TNA debut during the promotion’s UK tour in October 2023, with his official signing announced at the Coventry stop. Despite being under TNA contract, Slater has only made sporadic appearances for the company since then, continuing to wrestle regularly across the UK indie scene.

Sources close to Slater said that he’s looking to relocate to the United States full-time. That said, he’s not stepping away from the British circuit anytime soon and still plans to work with top UK promotions like RevPro, PROGRESS, and NORTH Wrestling.

Slater’s deal leaves plenty of runway for growth, but also opens the door for future opportunities in the U.S. wrestling landscape, whether with TNA or elsewhere.
