The November 21, 2025, WWE SmackDown is being held at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. This was a big night, and we saw two more matches in a big tournament.

John Cena is set to wrestle the final match of his career on Saturday, December 13, 2025. The event will take place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., as part of WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event. His opponent will be the winner of the ongoing Last Time Is Now Tournament, created to determine who will face Cena in his farewell match.

This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown advanced the tournament with two more matches. Naturally, fans in Denver were very excited to see the action first-hand.

In the first tournament match, Carmelo Hayes took on Bronson Reed to see who would get one step closer to the finals. This match ended with Reed losing in a massive upset via countout after Cody Rhodes ran down to cause that. After the match, Rhodes cut an angry promo at Drew McIntyre after that attack on his bus.

In the second match, Penta went head-to-head against Finn Bálor. This match went down as the final contest of the night. The contest could have gone either way, but the back-and-forth affair ended with Penta nailing a destroyer and getting the clean win.

The tournament will continue in the coming weeks until a final winner is decided. That winner will go on to face John Cena in his official final match on December 13. Only time will tell who wins the tournament, but smart money seems to be on GUNTHER.

With less than a month remaining before Cena’s retirement bout, WWE is positioning the tournament as the determining factor in one of the most significant matches of his career.
